RM of Montrose’s story
The Rural Municipality of Montrose No. 315 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909, in west-central Saskatchewan.
Within its boundaries lie the unincorporated communities and localities of Donavon, Gledhow, Laura, Swanson and Valley Park. Laura was once a village, dissolved on December 31, 1954, and again on December 28, 1978.
Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, with its office in Delisle. Highways 7, 45 and 766 cross the area, along with lines of the Canadian National Railway and the Big Sky Railway.
